Activities
Aquatics summer program
We beat the heat every summer with daily pool sessions which are always supervised by a licensed lifeguard and plenty of supervision so students, teachers, and parents are confident that everyone will enjoy their water activities.
Afterschool pickup services
We offer well maintained vans with qualified drivers to transport children from their school day to our supportive staff and facility immediately after their school day.
Celebrations
Recognizing students as they progress in their learning, both social and academic, is an important part of their personal development. We take these opportunities to let students know that we see their strides and we want to help them be confident achievers in their daily lives. Becoming well rounded, students, friends, and citizens of this fascinating world takes some work, but it’s worth it. Through graduation ceremonies to monthly birthday acknowledgements, children know that we see them as individuals and they are special in their own way Everyone has a special place at AFK.
Education
We offer a curriculum introducing children to early reading skills, math concepts, the arts, and discovering their world. Our goal is to help children form an overall view of education as a holistic overarching philosophy that help them develop greater self esteem, and appreciate physical outdoor activities, in a nurturing, caring environment Each age group, along with our educational approach, is a unique part of our little AFK family .
Enrichment Events
From “Holiday Parties” to “AFK Parades”, and our “All School Spectacular”children develop social skills and enjoy creative learning experiences that include banner making, costume play, and practicing our marching skills! These are fun times for students and staff.
Guest Speakers
Learning through the experience of others is incredibly valuable. Our students hear stories and lessons from local community leaders, parents, and grandparents where they have the opportunity to imagine “all the places you can go, all the places you can see” as Dr. Suess so aptly said. We love watching kids grow through these informative sessions.
